Prof. Dr. Johannes Fischer NEU am LS11
Wir begrüßen ganz herzlich Professor Dr. Johannes Fischer neu an unserem Lehrstuhl LS11.
Von Oktober 2013 an übernimmt er die Fachdidaktik Ausbildung in Informatik für Lehramtsstudierende.
Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt sind Textindexierung und platzsparende Datenstrukturen für sehr große Datenmengen. Damit passt er hervorragend zu dem “Big Data” Schwerpunkt der Fakultät für Informatik der TU Dortmund.
Prof. Dr. Fischer war bisher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Theoretische Informatik, Algorithmik II am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT).
Best Sofware Prize für Nils Kriege und Till Schäfer
Nils Kriege und Till Schäfer erhielten auf dem OpenTox Euro 2013 Interaction Meeting den Best Software Prize für ihren “Hands-On” Workshop zur Software Scaffold Hunter mit dem Titel: “Using Scaffold Hunter for the Visual Analysis of Chemical Datasets”. Das OpenTox Interaction Meeting widmet sich den aktuellen Entwicklungen in prädiktiver Toxologie und beinhaltet die Themen in silico Modellierung, Anwendungsentwicklung, Datenanalyse, Systembiologie, Visualisierung, Cheminformatik und Bioinformatik.
OGDF takes part in Google Summer of Code 2012
We are proud to announce that our graph-drawing software project OGDF has been selected as a mentoring organization at Google Summer of Code 2012. Overall, only 180 open-source organizations have been selected worldwide.
Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers students stipends to write code for open source projects. Google sponsors $5,000 for each successful student. Since its inception in 2005, the program has brought together nearly 5,500 successful student participants and over 3000 mentors from over 100 countries worldwide, all for the love of code.
Students interested in our projects should visit the OGDF GSoC page. Deadline for student applications is April 6.
Zuschauen bei der CIG 2010 per Live Streaming
Einige Sessions der Konferenz “Computational Intelligence and Games (CIG 2010)” können per Live Streaming verfolgt werden. Voraussichtlicher Sendetermin ist Mittwoch, 18.08.2010, ab 9 Uhr. Das Programm sieht an diesem Tag Tutorials vor. Die Arbeitsgruppe Computational Intelligence ist mit drei Beiträgen auf der Konferenz vertreten.
